Overview

Valves for Process, Bulk Solids & Utilities

A valve is the one component in a line that has to work perfectly on the day it is finally needed. Ours are built around that: machined seats, tested shells, and a seat leakage check on every unit before it is packed.

The range covers two quite different duties. Ball, gate, globe and check valves handle liquids, gas and steam in conventional process piping. Rotary airlock, double dump, double cone and knife gate valves handle powders, ash, clinker and slurry — abrasive service where a standard valve simply will not survive.

  • Body materials: Cast & forged CS, SS, ductile iron, alloy and hardfaced options.
  • Ends: Flanged, butt weld, socket weld, screwed and wafer.
  • Operation: Handwheel, lever, gear, pneumatic and electric actuator.

Products in This Category

Eight valve families, supplied to your line size, pressure class and material specification.

Flange rotary airlock valve 01

Flange Rotary Airlock Valve

A vaned rotor turning inside a machined housing that meters powder or granular material out of a hopper while holding back the pressure difference across it. Rotor-to-body clearance is set tight enough to seal the air and loose enough not to grind, which is where the machining accuracy earns its keep.

Size Range
150 mm to 600 mm square / round
Rotor
6, 8 or 10 vane, open or closed end
Differential
Up to 1.0 bar
Body
CI, CS, SS 304/316, hardfaced
Double dump valve for ash and dust hoppers 02

Double Dump Valve

Two counter-weighted flap gates mounted one above the other. They never open at the same moment, so material passes down through the chamber between them while the air seal is never broken — the standard discharge for ESP and bag-filter ash hoppers.

Size Range
150 mm to 500 mm
Operation
Counterweight, pneumatic or electric
Temperature
Up to 350 °C
Body
Fabricated CS / SS with liner
Double cone valve for abrasive bulk material 03

Double Cone Valve

A pair of cones seating in series to isolate a pressurised vessel from atmosphere while abrasive solids are let down. The conical seat wears evenly rather than channelling, which makes it the preferred choice on clinker, coal and mineral duty.

Size Range
100 mm to 400 mm
Seat
Hardfaced / replaceable liner
Actuation
Pneumatic cylinder with limit switches
Service
Abrasive bulk solids let-down
Knife gate valve 04

Knife Gate Valve

A sharpened gate that cuts straight through slurry, pulp, fibre and settled solids instead of trying to close on top of them. The thin wafer body drops into a short face-to-face gap, so it retrofits where a conventional gate valve will not fit.

Size Range
50 mm to 1200 mm
Pressure
PN 6 / PN 10 / PN 16
Seat
Metal, EPDM, NBR, PTFE
Operation
Handwheel, lever, pneumatic, electric
Industrial ball valves 05

Ball Valves

Quarter-turn isolation with a bubble-tight shut-off and negligible pressure drop when open. Supplied floating or trunnion mounted, in two-piece and three-piece bodies, with full or reduced bore to suit the line. Valves up to 30" NB in ASME Class 600 have already been supplied, and the shop can build trunnion-mounted valves up to 48" NB for large-bore pipeline and header duty.

Supplied Range
Up to 30" NB × Class 600
Manufacturing Range
Up to 48" NB
Class
150, 300, 600, 900, 1500
Design
Floating & trunnion, full / reduced bore
End Connection
Flanged RF / RTJ (ASME B16.5 / B16.47), butt-weld
Seat
PTFE, RPTFE, PEEK, metal seated
Gate valves for isolation duty 06

Gate Valves

Full-bore isolation for lines that stay either fully open or fully shut. The wedge lifts clear of the flow path, so there is almost no pressure drop and no turbulence — which is exactly why gate valves should never be used for throttling.

Size Range
1/2" to 36" NB
Class
150 to 1500
Stem
OS&Y rising / non-rising
Wedge
Solid, flexible, split
Globe valve for regulating duty 07

Globe Valve

Built for regulation. The disc moves perpendicular to the seat, which gives fine, repeatable control of flow and lets the seating surfaces be re-machined rather than replaced. Straight, angle and Y-pattern bodies are available.

Size Range
1/2" to 24" NB
Class
150 to 1500
Pattern
Straight, angle, Y-type
Disc
Plug, parabolic, needle
Swing and dual plate check valves 08

Check Valve

Non-return protection that closes on reverse flow with no operator and no signal. Swing, lift, piston and dual-plate types are supplied — the dual plate being the lightest and quickest to close, which limits water hammer on pump discharge lines.

Size Range
1/2" to 36" NB
Type
Swing, lift, piston, dual plate
Class
150 to 1500
Ends
Flanged, butt weld, wafer

Testing & Documentation

Nothing leaves the works untested.

Shell & Seat Testing

Hydrostatic shell test at 1.5 times the rating followed by a seat closure test, both recorded against the valve serial number.

PMI Verification

Positive material identification on body, bonnet and trim confirms the alloy supplied matches the alloy specified.

Functional Cycling

Actuated valves are cycled through full open and full close with limit switch and torque checks before packing.

Full Documentation

Material certificates, test reports, GA drawings and spare part lists are despatched with the consignment.
