Overview

Certified Material, Cut and Ready to Work

We buy from primary and reputable secondary mills, and every item is stocked against its own test certificate. That matters more than price on a coded job: material without traceable documentation cannot go into a pressure part, no matter how good the steel is.

Because the same works cuts, machines and fabricates, you can order material already sized — plate profiled to your nesting, bar cut to length, sections mitred — and skip a handling step entirely. One of our standing records is a 300 mm round bar, 10 metres long, produced in two days and exported to the UAE against an emergency requirement.

  • Documentation: EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificates as standard.
  • Processing: Laser, plasma and saw cutting, drilling and machining in-house.
  • Supply: Full lengths, cut-to-size pieces or nested profiles.

Products in This Category

Six material families, supplied in carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel and special metals.

Steel plates in carbon, alloy and stainless grades 01

Plates

Hot rolled, normalised and quenched-and-tempered plate for vessels, tanks, structures, liners and wear parts. Supplied as full plates or profiled to your DXF on the laser and plasma tables, with the heat number transferred onto every piece before it is cut free from the parent plate.

Thickness
1.5 mm to 150 mm
Width
Up to 2500 mm
Grades
IS 2062, SA 516 Gr 70, SA 387, SS 304 / 316, Corten
Finish
Hot rolled, pickled, 2B, No.1, chequered
Structural steel sections, beams, channels and angles 02

Structural Sections

Beams, columns, channels, angles, flats and hollow sections for platforms, pipe racks, supports, skids and plant structures. Sections can be supplied plain, or cut, drilled, coped and shot blasted ready for erection — which saves a fabricator the slowest part of the job.

Sections
ISMB, ISMC, ISA, ISJB, ISLB, RHS & SHS
Size Range
25 mm to 600 mm depth
Grades
IS 2062 E250 / E350, ASTM A36, S275, S355
Length
6 m and 12 m standard, cut to size on request
Round bars in carbon, alloy and stainless steel 03

Round Bars

Black, bright and peeled bar for shafts, pins, flanges, machined components and forging stock. Free-cutting grades are held for volume turning work, and alloy grades in the heat-treated condition where the part has to reach a strength that as-rolled steel simply will not give.

Diameter
6 mm to 300 mm
Condition
As rolled, normalised, Q&T, bright drawn, peeled
Grades
EN8, EN9, EN19, EN24, EN31, SS 304 / 316 / 410
Length
Up to 10 m, cut to length available
Dowel bars for concrete pavement joints 04

Dowel Bars

Plain round bars set across a concrete pavement joint to carry load from one slab to the next while still letting the slabs move. Both ends are square cut and de-burred, and one end is normally coated or capped so it can slide — a bonded dowel defeats the whole purpose of the joint.

Diameter
20 mm to 40 mm
Length
450 mm to 600 mm typical
Coating
Epoxy, PVC sleeved, bitumen, plain
Grades
IS 432 Gr I, ASTM A615, mild steel round
Stud bolts, nuts and washers for flanged joints 05

Fasteners

Stud bolts, hex bolts, nuts, washers, foundation bolts and anchor sets for flanged joints, structures and equipment mounting. Bolt and nut grades are supplied as a matched pair — B7 with 2H, B8M with 8M — because mixing them is how a joint galls or fails at temperature.

Size Range
M6 to M64, 1/4" to 2-1/2"
Grades
ASTM A193 B7 / B16 / B8 / B8M, A320 L7, 8.8, 10.9
Nuts
ASTM A194 2H / 4 / 7 / 8 / 8M
Coating
Plain, HDG, zinc plated, PTFE, xylan
Welding electrodes and filler wire 06

Welding Rods & Consumables

Electrodes, TIG and MIG filler wire, flux cored wire and hardfacing consumables, matched to the parent metal of the joint. Low-hydrogen electrodes are supplied in sealed packs with the baking requirement printed on them, since a damp basic electrode is a cracked weld waiting to happen.

Processes
SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, SAW
Carbon Steel

Traceability & Documentation

Material you can prove is material you can use.

Heat Number Transfer

Before a plate or bar is cut, the heat number is hard-stamped or paint-marked onto every resulting piece.

Mill Test Certificates

EN 10204 3.1 certificates are issued with every despatch, correlated to the marked heat on each item.

PMI Verification

Alloy and stainless material is PMI checked on receipt and again before despatch, so a mixed grade never leaves the yard.

Cut & Supply

Laser, plasma and saw cutting to your list or DXF, with edges de-burred and pieces bundled by mark number.
