Flanges, Rings & Sealing

Every bolted joint in the plant depends on this range — orifice and standard flanges, hydraulic flanges, bleed rings, spectacle blinds, spacers and the gaskets that seal them.

Overview

Where the Joint Is Made — and Held

A flanged joint only works when three things agree: the flange face, the gasket and the bolt load. We manufacture the flanges and the rings, and supply the gaskets cut to the same standard, so a joint sourced from us has no mismatch designed into it.

The range includes the specials that refinery and metering work depends on — orifice flanges with tapped pressure connections, bleed rings for draining and venting a line, and spectacle blinds that give a visible, positive isolation.

  • Standards: ASME B16.5, B16.47 Series A & B, B16.36, B16.20, B16.48.
  • Facings: RF, FF, RTJ, tongue & groove, male & female.
  • Finish: Serrated, spiral serrated and smooth to specified Ra.

Products in This Category

Six product families covering standard, special and sealing requirements.

Orifice flanges with pressure tappings 01

Orifice Flanges

Supplied as a pair with radially drilled and tapped pressure connections either side of the orifice plate, so differential pressure can be read straight off the joint. Jack screws are provided to spread the flanges when the plate is changed without breaking the whole spool apart.

Size Range
1/2" to 24" NB
Class
300, 600, 900, 1500, 2500
Tappings
1/2" or 3/4" NPT, single or dual
Standard
ASME B16.36
Weld neck, slip on and blind flanges 02

Flanges

The full standard family — weld neck, slip-on, blind, socket weld, threaded, lap joint, long weld neck and reducing flanges. Forged from traceable material, machined on CNC, and face-finished to the serration your gasket specification asks for.

Size Range
1/2" to 60" NB
Class
150 to 2500, PN 6 to PN 100
Types
WNRF, SORF, BLRF, SW, THD, LJ
Standard
ASME B16.5 / B16.47, EN 1092-1
SAE hydraulic flanges 03

Hydraulic Flanges

Compact four-bolt SAE flange connections for high-pressure hydraulic circuits, where an O-ring in a machined groove does the sealing rather than a gasket. Far more tolerant of vibration and pressure pulsation than a threaded connection.

Size Range
1/2" to 5"
Series
SAE 3000 PSI & 6000 PSI
Standard
SAE J518, ISO 6162-1 / 6162-2
Types
Weld, socket weld, threaded, split
Bleed ring with tapped connection 04

Bleed Ring

A drilled and tapped ring inserted between two flanges, giving a permanent point to drain, vent, sample or prove that a line is depressurised before a blind is swung. Also called a drip ring or monitoring ring.

Size Range
1/2" to 24" NB
Class
150 to 2500
Connection
1/2" or 3/4" NPT, with valve if required
Use
Drain, vent, sample, pressure proving
Spectacle blinds, spades and spacers 05

Spectacle Blinds & Spacers

A figure-of-eight plate with one solid disc and one open ring, joined by a web. Swinging it over gives a positive isolation that can be confirmed from the walkway with a glance — no instrument and no doubt. Also supplied as separate paddle spades and spacer rings.

Size Range
1/2" to 48" NB
Class
150 to 2500
Types
Spectacle blind, spade, spacer
Standard
ASME B16.48
Spiral wound and ring joint gaskets 06

Gaskets

Spiral wound with inner and outer rings, ring type joint in oval and octagonal profiles, metal jacketed, corrugated, camprofile and soft cut gaskets. Filler and winding materials are chosen against the actual media, temperature and flange facing rather than a generic default.

Size Range
1/2" to 60" NB
Types
SWG, RTJ, camprofile, jacketed, soft cut
Filler
Graphite, PTFE, ceramic, mica
Standard
ASME B16.20 / B16.21
